Prothrombin Time (PT) with INR
Since the Prothrombin time (PT) evaluates the ability of blood to clot properly, it can be used to help diagnose bleeding. Occasionally, the test may be used to screen patients for any previously undetected bleeding problems prior to surgical procedures.
The prothrombin time (PT) test measures how long it takes for a clot to form in a sample of blood. This a non-fasting blood test that reports in 1-2 business days.
